Mission Statement

At Coastal Dance and Music Academy we are dedicated to providing our dance, music, theater and voice students with a nurturing, family atmosphere, which is technically based, age appropriate, and develops self-confidence and self-esteem. We strive to provide a creative and healthful place for families to enjoy dance, music, theater, and voice together at our Grover Beach location on the Central Coast/Five Cities Area in the county of San Luis Obispo. We endeavor to use a positive and supportive teaching approach that is pressure-free and non-competitive. We provide dance and theater training as well as voice and music lessons for students of all ages and at all levels, from beginning to professional. We have students ranging in age from 18 months to 85! Coastal Dance and Music Academy also provides performance opportunities for all students. Our goal is to make arts education fun and exciting while providing professional instruction and nourishing each student's artistic spirit.

Our Goals

1. •To provide our dance, theater, voice, and music students with a nurturing family atmosphere, which is technically-based, age appropriate, and develops self-confidence and self-esteem.
   

2. •To provide dance and theater training as well as voice and music lessons for students of all ages (currently our youngest is 18 months and our oldest is 85!) at all levels from beginning to professional.
   

3. •To provide students with an end-of-year evaluation and class recommendations.
   

4. •To provide performance opportunities for all students.
   

5. •To use a positive and supportive teaching approach that is pressure-free and non-competitive.
   

6. •To provide a creative, clean and healthful place for families to enjoy dance, theater, voice, and music at one location.
   

7. •To make dance, theater, voice, and music fun and exciting while providing professional instruction and nourishing each student’s artistic spirit.

“Our daughter began studying guitar at CDMA three years ago. Her teacher has been both a guide and an inspiration to her. We have been very pleased with the way Grace’s teacher has developed her talent and how the lessons are formatted to bring out her best work. Grace’s teacher has also helped direct her in her song writing, and has been a great encouragement to her. Although of less duration, we have also been impressed with Grace’s vocal coach. She relates well to the students, and pays great attention to the details of their vocal production. We look forward to hearing Grace's voice develop under her teacher’s direction.”
